‘Everything under one roof’ that is the motto of the newly built S1 centre. Fashion for sport and leisure, haute cuisine, ski-school, lift-company, and even a medical-centre with landing pad, these are some of the things Serfaus has made possible, and a ‘first’ in Austria.

“TheS1 Centre sets new standards in service and comfort not only for our international guests, but also for the locals.” Of this, Franz Patscheider (who helped initiate the whole concept) is absolutely certain. “Its development and all these facilities are gradually creating the perfect infrastructure, and in doing so offering people a whole new experience. It’s conceivable that the S1 Centre could eventually create a 2nd village centre and meeting place, quite simply because it offers something for everyone.”

All of this is easily reached and well served by the village’s underground system making it all very family friendly. All in all the S1 Centre is the ideal start and finishing point for your day’s activities.

In architectural terms S1 has all the makings of becoming the new landmark in Serfaus. The original concept was the idea of architect Klaus Mathoy, and then further developed in conjunction with Franz Patscheider.

While under construction, the lift company simultaneously redesigned the entrance to the underground station to be more user friendly, and at the same time created new ticketing and information offices.
